Hey guys, so I'm trying to build up the courage to study abroad but a few things are holding me back, specifically communicating with locals because of language barriers. I want to challenge myself by visiting a non-English speaking country, maybe in Asia (haven't decided yet), because I want to really immerse myself in another culture and even potentially add a second language to my resume in future.
I just wanted to ask, what are some tools that can help me speak to the locals? Any tips that you may have that helped you understand the language easier? Anything will help. Thanks!
When I have done exchange in the past I have also used Duolingo a little before. Hehehe. Also watching videos etc to learn more about how to be respectful etc. I think alot of locals appreciate it when you at least know key phrases. Hope this helps!
